In any case, the request has to be justified and it must contain explicit reference to the research that is taking place and the institution / University to which you are working.

The collection of Ulderico Rolandi (1874-1951) is made up of numerous opera libretti collected by the melodrama scholar and passionate collector. There are some very rare specimens among those held, dating from the second half of the sixteenth century to the early twentieth century. The collection was acquired by Vittorio Cini in 1956 on the advice of Adriano Belli and Silvio D'Amico. It is one of the biggest collections in the world, comparable only to that of opera libretti in the Washington Library of Congress.
In addition to a thematic library, the collection also holds music scores, playbills and prints, and portraits of composers, musicians, singers and people related to the world of music.
