Consultation of the archival material is possible only by prior request for an appointment, to be sent to the above addresses.
For consultation of the volumes belonging to the personal libraries (AMOM, EPOV, GPOL, LSQU, MAL, MILL, PSAM, ROL), the authorization request has to arrive at least three working days before the date of the consultation.
In any case, the request has to be justified and it must contain explicit reference to the research that is taking place and the institution / University to which you are working.

The archive of Pierluigi Samaritani (Novara, 29 September 1942 - Rome, 5 January 1994) is made up of more than 400 original drawings, costume fashion plates and staging sketches, 2000 books from his personal library and numerous folders of documents relating to the shows produced by the set and costume designer. During his long career Samaritani worked in the most prestigious opera houses in Italy and around the world, such as the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Teatro Regio in Parma, the Paris Opéra, Covent Garden in London, the Lyric Opera in Chicago and the Metropolitan in New York.
The collection was acquired by the Istituto per il Teatro e il Melodramma in 2012, thanks to a donation by the actress Simona Marchini.
